Direct and Seed Ventures

Direct Ventures and Seed Ventures are intended to spur the growth of high calibre home-grown entrepreneurs by assisting them to convert their unique ideas into viable business enterprises in Malaysia and beyond.

a) Direct Ventures:

Under this scheme, MAVCAP invests as well as actively participates in the management and operations of businesses in which it has broad experience.

As part of this programme, the Company seeks partnership opportunities mainly with start-ups and early-stage businesses as well as expansion onwards of high-growth companies. MAVCAP then utilises its financial, intellectual capital and resources to build and accelerate the growth and development of its partner companies throughout their life-cycles, leading to a successful exit.

For MAVCAP, the objective is to diversify its investments so that it has interests in a complementary and synergistic pool of technology companies (both in terms of sector and geography).

b) Seed Ventures:

MAVCAP is actively involved in deals throughout Malaysia, designed to nurture the growth of seed stage companies by providing funding and value-add such as:

• Providing counsel in business growth and strategic operational needs through sponsorship of professional and educational seminars at centres of excellence and universities.
• Developing and fostering strong linkages between local venture capitalists, partner companies and research and academic centres of excellence.
• Leveraging off network with high-level contacts to seek out and offer investee companies other incentives & grants, technology infrastructure, strategic policies and sourcing expertise.
